At Little Acorns, we understand the importance of teaching language and cognition skills at the infant and toddler ages. We know that by reading to infants and toddlers, they will have a greater chance of becoming strong readers as they grow, but we also know that this is not always enough. We found it necessary, therefore, to go beyond reading stories, looking at picture books and listening to books on tape to create an integrated sign language program.

Our Sign Language program integrates the use of simple signs with building confidence in your child; it gives each child a sense of accomplishment when they successfully sign with what they need or want. We focus our lessons on two new signs every week, which we send home for parents to learn as well. We introduce these signs every Tuesday, and work on them on a continual basis throughout the weeks to come, scaffolding on what they have learned the week before. We have had nothing but success in our program and we are excited to continue trying new things to better develop these skills in your infant or toddler.
